DZAVORONOK INTRODUCES HIMSELF: “IMMEDIATE UNDERSTANDING WITH RANA VERONA: IT’S THE RIGHT ENVIRONMENT”

Physical prowess, technique and experience: for the next SuperLega season the Rana Verona band department has been strengthened with the inclusion of Donovan Dzavoronok, the Czech hammer who last year boasted the title of Italian Champion. Born in 1997, the spiker officially presented himself at the Autoteam9 Move headquarters in Corso Milano and is now preparing to face his eighth season in the top Italian championship, the first in Verona at the court of Coach Stoytchev.

After the home honors of Vito Mandina, CEO of Autoteam9 Move, Gian Andrea Marchesi, sporting director of Rana Verona, spoke: “First of all I thank Vito and Autoteam9 Move for the welcome and trust they have shown us in these years. Donovan’s was the first transfer operation we concluded at the end of last season. We worked hard to bring him to Verona, because we are certain that his characteristics are perfectly compatible with our project. On a technical level he gives us great security in attack and reception. We know that the work in the gym is intense, but Donovan is an athlete with an incredible predisposition to work, a fundamental factor in choosing our players. On behalf of all of Verona Volley I welcome him, wishing him the best for this new stage of his career.”

“Rado (Stoytchev, ed.) convinced me to come and play for Rana Verona – the first words of the new Scaliger four-man position – I spoke with him at the end of last season and the agreement was immediate. In Trento I had little space and I was looking for a club that would give me important chances. I thank the club, because right from the start I felt good in this environment. The young and energetic group that is forming was another reason that pushed me to accept. I like to win, I don’t say I’m a winner, but I always try to give my best to get the result I’m looking for. Here I have to focus on all the fundamentals to improve since there is a very strong hammer department. Expectations? We have to think game after game because the level of the Italian championship is always high. We must always be focused on what we have to do and not think about where to get to. I get along well with the setters, I met Nikola in my first year in Monza, but there is also a good affinity with Luca. They have a different style, which is a good thing to adopt various solutions. In recent years I have played with legends like Kaziyski and Grozer, from whom I learned a lot.”
