With the 2022/2023 season now behind us, the time has come for WithU Verona to take stock. If the attacking department has offered a constant performance, part of the credit must be attributed to the Verona rearguard, and in particular to Marco Gaggini. After lifting the CEV Cup last year, the Libero from Varese faced his first year as a SuperLega starter at the age of just twenty, juggling well against every opponent.

The number 20 was, together with the spiker Rok Mozic, the player most present on the pitch during the entire championship. In fact, between the Regular Season, Quarter Play Offs, Play Off 5th Place and Del Monte Coppa Italia, he played the taraflex in all 32 matches played by Stoytchev’s team, with 124 sets to his credit. In reception, Gaggini ended his season with 26.1% of perfection, with some providential recoveries that contributed to the reconstruction of the game by his players. In the penultimate match of the Regular Season at Emma Villas Aubay Siena, the class of 2002 recorded 52.6% positivity in reception. Furthermore, he also had the satisfaction of receiving the MVP award on the occasion of the derby against Pallavolo Padova on the first day of the 5th Place Play Offs.
