Third outing of the preseason and third victory for Rana Verona, who wins the test match against Cuneo Volley. Still without the five national teams involved in the Olympic qualifiers, the Scaligeri have obtained other useful information in view of the start of the Super League, finding themselves facing a worthy opponent. In the 3-1 success, the new faces Truhtchev and Sani stood out, scoring 21 points each. Also in double figures was Dzavoronok, who scored 21 times. However, there were 9 blocks in total for Coach Stoytchev’s team.
In the starting sextet the Coach relies on Spirito as dribbler, with Sani confirmed as opposite and the pair in the gang formed by Truhtchev and Dzavoronok. In the center Zingel and Cioffi, the opposing player loaned for this occasion. D’Amico has space on the second line as a libero.
As already happened in the previous two outings, at the start of the race the rhythms are already those of the beginning of the season. The two teams exchange with good continuity from one side of the pitch to the other and balance reigns supreme. Then Verona takes the measure and with Zingel’s attack from place three they extend by three points, before closing the half at 25-21. Upon returning to the field, the guests started with a better attitude, then a prolonged action led to Truhtchev’s winning pipe which closed the gap. The Piedmontese team, however, maintains the advantage and equalizes the score. In the third set, Spirito and his teammates take control of the match and get back ahead in the score at the end of a partial dominated from start to finish. The home team imposes its game also in the fourth and puts the seal on the match with a great three-way block.
