The technical commissioner of the Italian national team Ferdinando De Giorgi has announced the list of 30 Azzurri for the 2023 Volleyball Nations League, which will take place from 6 June to 23 July 2023.
Among the squad announced by the coach there are also three players from WithU Verona. These are central defenders Leandro Mosca, already World Champion with Italy in 2022, and Lorenzo Cortesia, who in 2021 had boasted the title of European Champion, and the spiker Giulio Magalini, who in the summer of 2022 won with the U22 selection the European championship.
De Giorgi’s national team will be the protagonists in Week 1 in Ottawa, Canada, from 6 to 10 June and will make their debut in the tournament on 6 June against Argentina, before facing the United States, Cuba and Germany. Then Italy will take the field in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, from 21 to 25 June for Week 2, where they will face Iran, China, Serbia and Poland, and will conclude the group stage in the week from 4 to 8 July in Pasay City, Philippines. In this case, the opponents of the Azzurri will be Brazil, Canada, Slovenia and Japan.
