The latest addition for Rana Verona is Francesco Sani, a spiker who last season wore the shirt of UC Irvine, a team from the Californian college of the same name. In the last year, the young hammer born in 2002 has played an important role within the American team, taking the field in 103 sets, initially in the role of spiker and then also being used as an opposite.
Sani is part of the Under 21 selection of the US national team, also participating in the 2021 edition of the Pan American Cup, where he won the bronze medal. During his college career, Sani also got to play beach volleyball, taking part in a national college tournament in 2021.
“It is a great honor for me to join Rana Verona’s roster, because I am joining a team that has had an important season and aspires to achieve great results”. These are the first words of the new spiker from Verona. “Verona is an environment that I know having taken part in some summer retreats as an aggregate in recent years, I know how to work and the level of attention also to details. For this reason, it was easy to accept the offer, also because playing in the SuperLega is a dream come true. I can’t wait to find the boys again, to meet the new ones and to start this inspiring adventure. Come on Verona!”.
With the roster completed, sporting director Gian Andrea Marchesi commented on the addition of the last piece: “With Sani we have closed the roster for next season with a player we have known for a few years and who has already had the opportunity to experience our environment closely, having trained with us for some periods. Francesco is a young boy but he represents an interesting profile that we have followed carefully. Our green line, therefore, is enriched with an element of quality, which will be able to carve out its space during the season. We are happy to welcome him to the team group and on behalf of all I welcome him!”.
