Verona Volley will be represented at the European women’s volleyball championship, which will be held from 15 August to 3 September 2023 between Italy, Belgium, Estonia and Germany. In fact, the technical staff of the CEV, organizer of the event, will also include Roberto Di Maio, scoutman of Rana Verona who has just concluded his second season in the Verona club.
On behalf of the European confederation, Di Maio will analyze real-time data and statistics from the first match of the competition, now in its 33rd edition and which will be inaugurated at the Verona Arena on August 15th. The starting tape of the tournament will be cut by coach Mazzanti’s Italy, which will make its debut on August 15th at 20.00 against Romania.
The Rana Verona scoutman has already gained important experience at the international men’s level. The last in chronological order dates back to the summer of 2022, when with the Under 22 national team he won the gold medal at the European Championship held in Poland. Previously, Di Maio held the same role on the Slovenian staff, with whom he took part in the 2019 editions, where he finished second behind Serbia, and 2021 of the European championships. In 2015, however, he covered the role of scoutman for the FIVB in the Osaka and Seoul stages of the VNL. A baggage of great value for “Bob”, ready to enrich him with this new adventure.
