D’AMICO INTRODUCES HIMSELF: “I’M FIRED UP AND MOTIVATED. I’LL GIVE IT MY ALL”

In the next SuperLega Credem Banca Francesco D’Amico will protect Rana Verona’s second line. The new libero from La Scala has been the protagonist of an important climb in recent years, moving from Serie B to the top Italian division in a short time, until he played in the Scudetto final at the end of last season. The class of 1999 officially presented itself today at the Vetrocar headquarters.

“The first thing I feel is certainly satisfaction, because when I received the call from Rana Verona, I immediately felt the trust they would place in me” declared D’Amico. “Last season I faced Verona many times and, on all occasions, I had the feeling of playing against a well-organised opponent. My goal is to demonstrate that I am ready to play my first year as a starter in the Super League. I will definitely have more tasks and I will have to make myself heard on the pitch. We are working very well with Coach Stoytchev and with his experience he is helping me a lot. For me, volleyball represents carefreeness and I managed to fulfill the dream I had as a child. Every day I go to the gym with the desire to improve and have fun. Then ours is a team sport, so we grow together, we all win and lose together. I am excited and honored by the opportunity given to me by Rana Verona. I will put my all into this new adventure.”

Sports director Gian Andrea Marchesi comments with satisfaction on the new addition: “With the inclusion of D’Amico in our roster we have completed our defensive department with a young player, but who has already been able to gain important experience. It is a libero that fits perfectly with the line we have taken; he is an athlete we have been following for a long time, but for a variety of reasons we were unable to bring him to Verona before this season. We are sure that his arrival will allow us to make the leap in quality regarding the second line. He has all the technical and human characteristics that we look for in our players. In addition to being good from a technical point of view, he has the ideal predisposition for the job for us. On my behalf and that of the whole society, I welcome Francesco to Verona!”.
