With an eye and attention to the rest of the season, WithU Verona has begun preparing for the external challenge against Gioiella Prisma Taranto, scheduled for Saturday 14 January at 18.00. The 2023 gialloblù was inaugurated with a stadium on the verge of sold out, 4688 spectators, which set the record for home attendances since Verona Volley was born. A show of lights and cheers that filled the Pala AGSM AIM and that told the story of Perugia’s victory from the field, and the big Gialloblù heart in the stands.
Now, after an uphill start to the second round, WithU Verona is facing the complex Apulian away match, an appointment of great importance, against a formation chasing precious points for maintaining the category. After the usual post-match day off granted by the coaching staff, the group led by captain Raphael met at the arena in the morning. Divided into two groups, the Verona team performed exercises in the weight room to recover their energy following last Sunday’s match. In the afternoon, however, work on technique resumed.
Double sessions are also scheduled for the next two days, with the focus on perfecting the game system and the understanding between the departments, as well as a careful study of the opponent. On Friday, then, the team will take off towards the Salento city, carrying out a training session in the afternoon at the Grottaglie sports hall.
“Under pressure we struggled to express our game at its best – said coach Stoytchev at the end of the match against the Umbrians – from receiving to serving, but it must be said that Perugia today is the strongest team of all, in every fundamental and in every department. Let’s start again from Taranto “. Then he wanted to underline once again the importance of the public: “Thanking the people who come to support us is not enough. They are extraordinary, they really help us a lot”.
